Well, as most of us know, many of us make references to this "Dark Tower" thing. This thread is a little explanation of what we're talking about, without giving anything away. The Dark Tower series is a group of several books written by Stephen King. It is the story of a gunslinger(the last of his kind), in pursuit of the infamous Dark Tower. That's about all I can tell you about the main story without ruining any of it. They are all fantastic books and I think everyone here should read them. It will explain some of our numerous references. It's a story of determination and brotherhood, along with much much more. I will caution you that there are very vivid descriptions and some are not for those with a weak stomach, and some strong language. If you can get past that, I promise it will be worth your while. Unbelievable story. I am beginning on the next to last book and I am totally rivoted (for those that have read it, please don't give anything away ). Its a very high recommendation and a great read!

On this topic, you may have noticed that everyone now has a custom title to go alont with their profile here on the forums. These are all based off of the DT series, and here is a brief explination. The Ka-tet: A group of individuals bound together to serve a common goal (or ka). Each member of a ka-tet is like a puzzle, appearing to be a mystery on his or her own, but when together, creating a picture, or at least part of one. It may take a great many ka-tets to finish one picture. Members of a ka-tet are capable of sharing their thoughts, or khef. Some say that a ka-tet can only be broken by death or treachery. Others believe such a binding can never be broken because death and treachery are also spokes on the wheel of ka. Though we are all members of the ka-tet of FF, this specifically applies to the staff members. Dreadlife - Dinh - Head of a ka-tet. Can also mean father. Kings and leaders of all kinds are refered to as "dinh". Faewraith - Dash-Dinh - A sort of religious or emotional leader. Furiont - KaMe - A wise man of ka. The next level down would be made up of the senior members, or the tested in battle. Axis - Gunslinger VT - Gunslinger Gunslingers are an ancient class of warrior-knights. Protectors, diplomats, rulers, and terrible enemies in combat, a single gunslinger armed with the legendary sandlewood-gripped sixguns that are the mark of his status is easily capable of overcoming very unlikely odds. Gunslingers are the protectors of light and order. The next level would be the ka-tel, or group of regular members still awaiting trial. A group of apprentices. XattaX Vitus AngryAnarchist Netopalis, as a special technical consultant as well as gunslinger, has the honorary title of technomancer, wizard on the keys.

Awesome, hope you enjoy. It has been so long since I first went west through the desert with Roland after the man in black. Let me know what you think either as you go along or at the end. It will be fun to start some discussions about the story with you and some of the other guys who have already made this journey.

Just don't mention a thing about the last book! I am just about to start it. I think it would be great if we could discuss the book. It's unlike anything I've ever read. I've been reading the series for quite a while and I can't wait to see how this series will conclude. For those who haven't read it, its Stephen King at his finest. He is so vivid in his descriptions. It's not really a horror series, although does have some moments. I think reading the first two is a must. The first one is very good, but the second one really sucks you in. Best series ever... at least up to this point.
